Eye Test: A Display Font for Creative Branding Projects

I was working on a branding project for a small handmade soap shop when I stumbled upon Eye Test. As a designer, I always look for fonts that can make a statement without overpowering the message. Eye Test is a display font where each character is made of sized dots, creating a unique visual rhythm that feels both modern and handcrafted. It immediately caught my eye as something different — something that could elevate the brand’s identity in a subtle yet impactful way.

Eye Test for Handmade Packaging and Brand Labels

One of the first places I tested Eye Test was on the packaging mockups. The font’s dot-based structure gave the labels a tactile feel, almost like they were created with a stylus or brush. I used it for the product names on the soap jars, pairing it with a clean sans serif font for the supporting text. This contrast helped keep the design balanced while still making the main title stand out. The dots added texture, which felt perfect for a brand that emphasizes natural ingredients and artisanal craftsmanship.

What I loved most about Eye Test was how well it scaled across different sizes. Whether it was on a small label sticker or a large banner, the font maintained its clarity and visual appeal. It didn’t feel too digital or too rough — just right for a brand that wanted to communicate authenticity without sacrificing professionalism.

Eye Test for Social Media Graphics and Digital Branding

Next, I moved on to the social media assets. For Instagram posts and Facebook ads, I used Eye Test as the headline font. The dots in each letter gave the posts a playful yet refined look that matched the brand’s tone perfectly. I paired it with a minimalist sans serif font for captions, which kept the content easy to read but still visually engaging.

Using Eye Test in this context wasn’t just about aesthetics — it also helped reinforce the brand’s personality. The font’s structured yet organic feel translated into a sense of creativity and approachability, which resonated well with the target audience. It was clear that Eye Test wasn’t just a font; it was part of the brand’s voice.

Eye Test for Website Headers and Hero Sections

When designing the website header, I knew the font had to be legible at a distance and adaptable to different screen sizes. Eye Test performed surprisingly well in this role. I used it for the hero section heading, where it stood out against a soft background image of the products. The spaced-out dots created a sense of openness and lightness, which complemented the brand’s focus on wellness and self-care.

I also experimented with Eye Test in smaller sizes for navigation menus and call-to-action buttons. While it worked well as a display font, I found that it wasn’t ideal for long blocks of text. That’s why I limited its use to headlines and short-form content, ensuring the overall site remained readable and user-friendly.

Eye Test for Business Cards and Stationery Design

For the business cards, I wanted something that felt personal yet professional. Eye Test fit the bill perfectly. The dot pattern gave the cards a distinctive look that set them apart from generic designs. I paired it with a simple script font for the name and contact details, which added a touch of elegance without overwhelming the design.

Even though the font was a bit unconventional, it didn’t feel out of place. Instead, it added a layer of character that made the cards memorable. It was a great example of how Eye Test could be used to create original crafts projects that stood out in a crowded market.

Eye Test for Logo Concepts and Brand Identity

The final step was applying Eye Test to the logo concept. I tried several variations, but one version using only the font without any additional graphics became the favorite. The dots in the letters created a subtle visual interest that made the logo feel dynamic rather than static. It was simple but effective, and it captured the essence of the brand in a way that words alone couldn’t.

As I finalized the brand materials, I realized that Eye Test wasn’t just a font — it was a tool that helped shape the entire identity. From the packaging to the website, every element felt cohesive because of the consistent use of this display font.

If you’re looking for a Display font that can bring originality and character to your next project, give Eye Test a try. It’s more than just a Font — it’s a creative choice that can help your brand stand out in a meaningful way.
